Quality Pet Care

Growing up surrounded by dogs my whole life, to be honest I prefer dogs to humans! I am fully qualified with a City and Guild Level 3 Diploma in dog grooming (and fully first aid trained).

Reassurance

Your dog will be groomed on a one to one basis in a calm and safe environment, ensuring your pet will receive the best care and love. Whether you like your dog styled to breed standard or have your own requirements, I am here to help whilst using only the best products and equipment. I know a lot of dogs can be anxious in a grooming environment, my aim is for them to enjoy the experience so they want to come back and see me again!

Puppy Pamper

Recommended as soon as your puppy has had their first vaccinations (and I love nothing better than a puppy cuddle). A great introduction to being handled and groomed to prepare them for the sounds and smells of a grooming salon..

This treatment includes:

Warm bath with puppy shampoo, suitable for the most delicate skin
Fluff dry and gentle coat brush
Eyes, feet and sanitary area clipped (if necessary)
Nail Clip (if necessary)

Puppy cuddles

This includes everything your dog needs to look and feel good:

Warm bath with the appropriate shampoo for your dog's coat

Luxury Groom Treatment

Treat your treasured companion to the ultimate in-house service. In addition to the full groom service, this service also includes:

Warm bath with aromatherapy massage to soothe and relax tired muscles and relieve stress
moisturising shampoo cleanse followed by coat conditioning treatment
Hydrating face mask to help remove dirt and tear stains accompanied by a relaxing head massage
Luxurious balm applied to protect paws and claws

Additional Services

Hand Stripping

Specifically for wire haired breeds and silky coats (terriers and gun dogs for example).. Hand stripping involves removing dead hairs from the coat by hand instead of clipping which helps keep the texture and colour of the dog's coat.

This service includes:

Pre bath Strip
Warm bath
Full dry and coat brush out
Finish strip and style
Nail trim
Ear care

Dematting

Rest assured that I work under the guidelines for the animal welfare act and will not subject dogs to dematting if the matting is deemed too severe on arrival. A £20 additional charge wil be applied to the groom .

Quoted prices assume your dog is even-tempered and their coat in good condition. I will always do my best however if extra time is required, this will be charged at £15 per half hour.

Teeth cleaning

I am excited to be offering, as an addition to your groom, Emmipet which is a completely silent, vibration free and non-invasive teeth cleaning system for your dog.

Regularly cleaning your dog's teeth is the most important factor in preventing dental disease. Because of the vibration free and noise free Emmipet-pet, your dog will find it an easy and pleasant procedure.

£20 per session, purchased as an add-on to a groom.

A one-off cost of £10 will be payable at the first session for your dog's personal toothbrush head.

TIPS BEFORE YOUR GROOM

Toilet Visit

Please make sure your dog has been to the toilet before visiting to ensure a more comfortable visit for them

A Good Walk

A good walk prior to their groom helps your dog to relieve extra energy so when they visit they are ready for a calm and relaxing spa groom

Parking and Salon Entrance

The salon is located at my home in a residential area. Please park on the drive if space is available or if you have to park on the road, do be mindful of not blocking other residents' driveways. The salon has its own separate entrance to the right hand side of the front of the house

Why does my dog's hair cost more to cut than mine?

Your hairdresser only cuts the hair on your head
You don't try to bite your hairdresser
Your hairdresser doesn't clean your ears
Your hairdresser doesn't give you a manicure and pedicure
Your hairdresser doesn't wash your bum
You don't shake and cover your hairdresser with swathes of soapy water
You don't get a cuddle or stroke from your hairdresser if you feel nervous or scared
You keep still and don't wiggle or jump while being worked on with sharp scissors

My dog is short coated, does he/she need grooming?

Even short coated dogs benefit from a groom. All dogs enjoy feeling clean and pampered but they also have an undercoat that can be effectively removed, shedding the dead hair that would otherwise end up on your carpet

My dog has a few knots but I don't want him/her shaved, can you get them out?

I love dogs and wouldn't be doing this if I didn't. Everyone wants their dog to look like a teddy bear but the reality is they like to roll in poo or dive in muddy puddles.

Ideally long haired dogs should be groomed every day but in reality this doesn't happen in busy households.

Matted dogs can get very uncomfortable and when it gets past a point, this can be painful for the dog. If your dog has a few knots, I will get them out, no problem. For very matted dogs It can become distressing and as a dog lover, the kinder alternative is to shave your dog using blades that guide right underneath the matting meaning your dog will want to come back and see me again! It's important to remember ... it does grow back (quickly)

My dog has sensitive skin, what products do you use?

I only use products by Wildwash which cost me a little more but these include essential oils, no bad ingredients and are not tested on animals. Simply put, they are a lot better for your dog's skin.
